With great performances in the finals, Leonardo Barcelos, Imbituba / SC, and Carolina Miranda, Saquarema / RJ, went ahead in the disputes by the titles of the Rip Curl Grom Search, presented by Guarana Antarctica on Sunday (24), the waves of Beach Rust, Garopaba / SC. The two won the categories for older athletes, with up to 16 years, Bantam and female, respectively, that guarantee Circuit champions vacancies to represent Brazil in the international final in 2017, somewhere in the world.
In the other two categories in action, São Paulo wins with Daniel Adisaka of Ubatuba, in the novice (14-year limit) and Rodrigo Saldanha, the capital, in the grommet (sub12). Sunny, crowded beach and waves of one meter, the competition attracted more than 100 surfers from seven states.
Near the close races, the participants had a lot of fun, with distribution pipes, tasting Guarana Antarctica, boards of painting in the House Guarana Antarctica, and the innovative Sup Championship Guarana Antarctica, proving the slogan "Much more than a Surf Championship ". There was also the distribution of native seedlings to the public on the beach, in the Rip Curl Planet program of environmental awareness.
But undoubtedly the main attraction happened Saturday with world champion Gabriel Medina on the beach, interacting with the kids, at the same event which started its winning trajectory.
